5 artists

BLOG: Considering the grouping I used for this module, choose 5 different music "movements" from the ones listed above and add one group/musician/performer to that category. Why did you choose this artist? Why do you consider their work fits with technology and electronic music in their context? Post their works and your comments on your blogs.

1. Gummy - WarHorse
I would add this song to the new electronic/producer dj culture. He creates all his music by hand in logic and it reminds me of the 808 in how the beats are consistant and change through modulation. This artist is part of the new age rave scene that is starting to associate with molly and new age drugs.

2. Opiou - In Search of King Anchovy
I would add this song to experimental category. It sounds as if they are sampling a ton of different beats and noises and mixing them together to create this mix. This song I think would associate with the house scene and the more hard core drugs such as heron.

3. Avicii vs Krewella
These two artists are constantly mixing songs and remaking songs to sound even better. They are the new age post modern crises. I would assume these songs are associated again with molly or the new age drugs. The technology in creating this song is part of our new digital revolution and is made completely on the computer.

4. Anna Sun - Walk the Moon
I would add this song to the punk movement. Although it maybe doesn't fit perfectly it is when they stated to mess with voice alterations and instrument alterations. This band uses a lot of distortions in there music. I would associate this genre of music with the medical marijuana movement. For punk the music was an outlet for that generation and this indie revolution is the outlet for my generation.

5. Beyonce - Run this world
Aside from the beats being sampled and sounding like and electronic version of the tr-808 and all the distortions and modulations. This song would be added to the girl power category. This is a new age song about how girls run the world and are taking over. It is a song that stands up for them and makes them powerful.
