I chose to read "Beyond Lies The Wub" by Phillip K Dick. The story was about a space captain who came in contact with a Wub or better known as a pig. They take the Wub onto there space ship and have a battle on wether to eat it or let it live. The captain being a ruthless leader and no regard for life kills the Wub. When the Wub is served for dinner the captain is the only one who enjoys the meal while Franco and Jones do not enjoy it and leave the table. I really liked his science fiction writing and how in 1950 Dick wrote this short story. In 1950 I could only imagine how people pictured the future and it is really cool to see how Dick creates this story of what his picture of the future looks like. The story is very short and I think it takes a stab at political figures and how they enjoy their own ruthless choices and do not accept the impact it has on others. I can see how if he did mean to write about political figures it would make sense. I really enjoyed his writing.
